Lawn Sprinkler

A lawn sprinkler is the easiest way to water a lawn. Most systems are installed underground and have pop-up sprinkler heads that allow for traffic and lawnmowers to travel unimpeded through the lawn. The water pressure activates the pop-up function of these heads as well as the rotating function on impact sprinkler heads.

The size of the lawn will determine what type of lawn sprinkler is best. Large lawns require a head that can spray water long distances to avoid having to lay pipes all over the place. Impact sprinkler heads can shoot water over fifty feet and are used to irrigate large fields.

A smaller area can be watered with a pop-up lawn sprinkler system. These are small and unobtrusive and effectively water areas less than 15 feet in diameter. When combined with other heads they can easily water small to mid sized lawns and gardens. Drip-irrigation is another increasingly popular method that conserves water better than other methods.
